Michael Ray Fox

A filmmaker based in Halifax, Michael Ray Fox is the director and writer of the feature Roaming, which opened the 2013 Toronto Independent Film Festival and was named “Best Feature”. The film also saw a theatrical run in Maritime Canadian art house cinemas, was licensed to HBO Canada, was made available through Astral Media’s onDemand services, and was released on DVD. In the American market, Roaming was released on iTunes and Hulu. Prior to his first feature, Michael directed two short films that premiered at the Atlantic Film Festival, and directed a half-hour drama for broadcast on Channel Zero in Canada. One of his short films, A Lesser Sort of War, was broadcasted in CBC Television in 2009. Since his first feature, Michael has optioned three screenplays that are presently in development with Canadian producers and also served as Co-producer on the award-winning feature film Exit Thread. He has also directed music videos for artists such as Nathan Wiley and Zwerg, and served on the Board of Directors of the Atlantic Filmmakers’ Co-Op. As an actor, Michael appeared in the cult film Hobo with a Shotgun and the TV series Haven.
